What we offer students
The SDS can provide a great opportunity to have a look inside the real world of design. If you're intending a career in the design of signs and wayfinding systems, maps, diagrams, symbols or typefaces the Society will help you learn more.
Attending the talks we host is an invaluable way to get insight into the range and enormous variety of work going on in our field. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions and chat one to one with the speaker. Our twice yearly soirées, with food and drink, held after the regular talk are highly popular and free to members.
Most important UK firms in the business of wayfinding design and many from abroad are members of the Society and there are obviously excellent opportunities to meet up with key decision makers and influencers.
On the other hand, if you're not sure of the direction you want your career to take after you graduate the Society can put you in touch with other design professionals who could share their experiences with you to help you decide.
