ID Signsystems
Project Name: Global Cybersecurity Institute’s Brand Environment
Client: Rochester Institute of Technology Global Cybersecurity Institute
Sector: Universities and colleges
Location: Rochester, New York, United States
Role: ID Signsystems has capabilities in complex brand environments, exhibitions, and wayfinding projects, as evident for signage constructed for RIT’s Global Cybersecurity Institute Cybersecurity Experience Center.
The brief: The Rochester Institute of Technology required an exhibit, identity, and brand environment for their newly constructed building, housing the
nationally renowned Global Cybersecurity Institute.
Outcome: IDS was awarded contracts directly with RIT for its exhibit requirements and General Contractor LeChase Construction for major architectural elements, custom lighting requirements, and wayfinding signage. IDS worked closely with the Project Architects LaBella Associates to realise their design intent of key features such as the main entrance, building identification, custom glass treatments, and wayfinding signage.
IDS focused its fabrication efforts on closely matching the design of the architecture firm, while also providing value engineering services to
support the contractor’s budget and timeline commitments. A constant communication system was built to ensure that these standards were
being met at each stage in the development process.
IDS provided visioning through three-dimensional digital models of all elements, including illumination and digital content. While coordinating all
the digital integrations, IDS designed and implemented lighting for the major building branding features. Prototypes of all the major elements were developed prior to the final implementation. IDS manufactured and installed all environmental graphics, exhibits, donor recognition, and
wayfinding packages.
