It’s the 100th webinar session of #Cities4Everyone. I am Gil Penalosa, the creator and host of this bi-weekly webinar series, and for this special session, I will deliver the presentation. I am founder and chair of 8 80 Cities, a successful non-profit organization based in Toronto, Canada
Well+Being: living healthier and happier is our goal in life. Good intentions are needed, but they are not enough.
Living healthier and happier, requires good intentions, but as with most New Year’s resolutions, that is not enough. We know that to live healthier and happier we need to eat better, sleep longer, socialize more, exercise more, and connect with nature.
Cities can and should make these five actions the easy choice, through policies, infrastructure, activities, and programs.
I have worked in over 350 cities. Using examples from many of them, I’ll show how all cities can do it, allowing all residents to live healthier and happier. It’s not a technical or a financial issue. It’s about priorities, vision, action. Sadly, most are not offering this to their residents of all ages and abilities.
