Join BDP for a conversation on inclusive spaces for all, in collaboration with the Make Space for Girls and Landscape Institute.
If we are to create truly inclusive and welcoming cities and public space – we need to consider the needs of all users.
Teenage girls are an often overlooked group, leaving them without places where they feel welcome or valued. Join the RIAS and the Landscape Institute for an evening of expert debate and conversation to learn how urban and landscape design might better support teenage girls and create more inclusive public spaces for all.
The event will include short presentations from Imogen Clark, co-founder of Make Space for Girls, and BDP’s Cities Director, Natalia Uribe. Imogen and Natalia will be joined for the expert panel discussion by Rachel Smith, Glasgow City Council’s Senior Manager for Greenspace and Biodiversity and Anna Gaffney of A Place in Childhood, a charity that champion children’s involvement in placemaking, Heather Claridge, Group Manager for Strategic Spacial Planning, Glasgow City Region and Dr Brian Evans, Professor of Urbanism and Landscape at the Mackintosh School of Architecture.
[Tickets for this event are free. Book now.]
