Exploring critical, often-overlooked aspects of access and inclusion for women and girls.
Join the Access Association this spring for a timely and essential seminar dedicated to advancing gender equity in our built environment, policies, and public services. In alignment with International Women’s Day, this event brings together experts, lived experience and advocates to explore critical, often-overlooked aspects of access and inclusion for women and girls.
We will move beyond standard access discussions to address lived experiences, health, and systemic barriers through two primary lenses:
We begin by examining the intersection of physical activity and safe access. Sessions will cover the lived reality of women and running and offer actionable strategies for safer public spaces, focusing on improving access for women and girls by addressing both practical barriers and safety concerns in the public realm.
We then shift focus to how health and inclusion are embedded in the structures of our daily lives. We will dive into specific women’s health needs and explore practical policy implementation through guidance. By challenging foundational built barriers and integrating comprehensive guidance into design standards, we aim to dismantle the systemic issues that perpetuate exclusion in the built environment.
