TypoCircle are delighted to host this the first of two playful workshops at Birmingham Design Festival this year.
We are a not-for-profit organisation bringing together anyone with an interest in design, craft and typography. We believe play is an integral part of any creative process, at any stage of career. Introduced by our Chair Louise Sloper & Alice Ishiguro Tosey, join us in welcoming and encouraging the spirit of play in our hands-on session.
Our morning workshop will cover a general introduction to typography. This session is for young creatives (16-20 year olds) only: those currently in education, recent graduates or those with no creative background but with a keen interest to get involved. We will dive into the superpower of typography and explore the power that type has on the meaning of its content. We will twist, stretch and play with typography and the meaning of words. This craft-based workshop is for those who want to get excited about type and the wonderful potential it has.
