A Timely Regenerative Turn for Cities That Work for All
How can cities be greener, wilder, more liveable, co-evolving, and poetic? Join international ly renound urbanist and UNITAR Fellow, May East for a workshop inspired by her acclaimed book What if Women Designed the City? Together we will explore how cities can be greener, wilder, more liveable, co-evolving and poetic.
Rooted in the richness of women’s everyday life experiences, May’s work offers a compelling perspective on urban development through the eyes of women from diverse countries and backgrounds, revealing untapped potential grounded in the uniqueness of their neighbourhoods. Drawing on in-depth walking interviews with 274 women, her book presents 33 leverage points for how policymakers, urban professionals, and communities can intervene in planning systems – so that cities work better for women, for girls and for everyone.
