Many people see heritage buildings as a challenge too far when it comes to creating sustainable spaces for community or shared use. This needn’t be the case. Design innovations have come a long way, and so has our thinking about how to revitalise our heritage buildings for a more sustainable future. At this Chat, we’ll explore the design journey involved. We’ll consider getting the brief right, drawing on the current and past social, cultural and economic connections with local people, and the introduction of new materials and technologies.
