DCL (Design Communications Ltd.) showcased how new and emerging display technologies can be integrated into the built environment to communicate brand or create unforgettable experiences. Illustrated with case studies from their own portfolio, the talk covered a broad spectrum of digital media and creative applications – from 3D projection mapping and media facades, to responsive environments and interactive video walls.

About our speakers

Mark Andreasson – Mark has over 35 years of experience in the production and implementation of architectural signage and specialties in construction, and is one of the founders of DCL. Mark has participated in hundreds of significant signage and wayfinding projects worldwide and has established many industry standards in use today. As a former board member of the Society for Environmental Graphic Design (SEGD), Mark presents workshops for architects, specifiers, contractors, and designers, about materials, technology, engineering, and management practices as they pertain to specialty fabrication and wayfinding projects.

Jeff Grantz – Jeff Grantz is the current director of Creative Technologies at DCL. He is the former owner and director of the creative production studio Materials & Methods, as well as founder of Boston’s largest nighttime contemporary art and projection festival, “ILLUMINUS.” Jeff attended the Rhode Island School of Design where he later taught in the departments of Industrial Design, Interior Architecture, and Foundation Studies. As a multidisciplinary designer, engineer, and creative technologist – Jeff has spent the last 20 years avoiding any particular field or focus, but is an expert seeker of creative pursuits, enhancer of human experience, and excels in bi-directional candle burning.
