This is the third edition of the Academy of Urbanism’s Founder’s Lecture, held in memory of John Thompson at his alma mater, Cambridge University. The lecture aims to continue his legacy of community architecture by inviting speakers whose work helps strengthen community through urbanism.
We’re delighted to have Honorary Academician Tina Saaby delivering the 2026 lecture, exploring city urbanism through the perspective of children and young people. The presentation will draw on lessons from her time as City Architect for Copenhagen and Gladsaxe, Denmark.
The lecture will be followed by a Q&A and drinks reception to enable further exploration of the theme and an opportunity to connect with your fellow urbanists.
