Project Name: V&A Museum, Dundee
Client: BAM Construction
Sector: Museums
Location: Dundee (UK)
Role: Norsign worked closely with the main contractor, architect and council to supply and install all of the internal and external signage, ensuring that they not only kept to budget but that the signs were exactly as they had been specified.
The Brief: The whole building, including the signage, was designed and specified at a very high level. This meant a lot of the signage was totally unique and bespoke so the client needed someone who they knew could advise them as to what could/couldn’t work as well as to ensure the signage was produced exactly as the designers had specified.
Outcome: The vision for the signage was clear – Norsign used extensive experience to step into the project and design the real-life solution to achieve the vision without compromise, resulting in signage fit for the world-class design museum.
John Tavendale, Project Manager at Dundee City Council, commented: “Norsign demonstrated the highest level of professionalism, skill, patience and understanding of the design information, producing quality samples in a tight timescale which allowed approvals to be given and for the overall programme to be met…and reacted promptly to dealing with defects and additional signage works post (the V&A Museum Dundee) opening.”
