SEGD and Sign Design Society member Arthur King is currently being featured in Weathered at the Carrie Haddid Gallery in Hudson, New York.
The exhibition which opens on Friday 1 August 2026 examines the visible and invisible effects of time on people, places and memory. Whether through depictions of architecture of a bygone era, narratives that echo nostalgia, or the use of patinaed materials, the work in this exhibit explores how time can leave its mark.
As well as Arthur King, other featured artists in the exhibition include Shawn Dulaney, Donise English, Scott Nelson Foster, Ricardo Mulero, and Ryan Rusiecki.
King’s mixed media pieces are rich with layered history, reflecting both his fine art practice and his professional background as an experience designer. Using patinaed surfaces and narrative structures, his pieces invite viewers to consider the role of design and memory in shaping human experience.
With over three decades of work in exhibit and experience design, Arthur King has created immersive environments for major cultural institutions. His design career includes collaborations with the Smithsonian Institution, the New York Botanical Garden, and Liberty Science Center. He blends this deep understanding of spatial storytelling into his visual art practice. King’s current work draws from memory, aged architecture, and weathered materials to evoke emotional connections with place.
Weathered runs 1 August–21 September 2025, with an opening reception on Saturday 2 August 2 (5–7 pm EST).
