Project Name: Westfield Stratford City
Client: Westfield Stratford City
Sector: Retail wayfinding
Location: Stratford
Role: Branding, pictogram washroom signage, illumination
Brief: Signbox was appointed to manufacture and deliver a bespoke signage solution to complement the sophisticated interior of Westfield Stratford refurbished space. Working closely with Artemis Interiors, who expertly managed the project, we developed a signage scheme alongside IDL Architects, 5 Plus Architects and Author Studio, bringing the design concept to life. The scheme not only guided users intuitively but enhanced the high-end aesthetic of the environment.
Design Highlights:
- Striking iconography & text: We created a series of large-scale pictograms and textual signage, manufactured from 30mm thick solid block acrylic. With pictograms standing at an impressive 600mm tall, they clearly identify and celebrate the diverse facilities available.
- Halo illumination: Each icon was reverse LED illuminated to produce a soft, ambient halo effect. An elegant and practical lighting solution that enhanced visibility while contributing to the luxurious feel.
- Premium finishes: To complement the interior palette and architectural finishes, the face of the icons and text were crafted in a stunning antique yellow bronze. This added depth, warmth, and visual richness to the signage.
Outcome: The finished installation at Westfield Stratford reflects a careful balance of form and function.Combining cutting-edge signage technology with refined craftsmanship to deliver a bold yet elegantsolution. The signage not only performs its wayfinding role beautifully but becomes an integral designfeature in a space that champions inclusivity, comfort, and style.
