This hybrid seminar explores the intricate relationship between community dynamics and urban design.

Dr Pablo Sendra and Dr Filipa Wunderlich will lead discussions, focusing on how communities influence and are influenced by spatial planning and urban design. The seminar features three engaging talks from: Neil Onions focusing on ‘how do we embed equitable engagement processes into urban development? and What modes of collaborative design can be implemented to ensure we are designing places people want to live, work and play? We will also hear from Dr Irene Manzini, on her research around the value of co-working spaces and creative communities hubs. Finally, James Delaney will present on the work with the Block by Block Foundation which builds on the work from his MRes on Minecraft and participatory urban design through gaming.
