Hear from two perspectives on how creative place making and preservation impacts cities and citizen health!
In this session, we will hear about creative placemaking / placekeeping from a professional planning lens and a professional historic preservationist/social advocacy perspective. We will learn about how creative placemaking can have wide ranging impacts, including walkability. We will also examine the tensions between saving and creating places, with regard to displacement.
Participants will have the opportunity to hear about several creative placemaking and placekeeping case studies and learn about strategies to balance the tensions that might occur as an outcome of these projects. Our session presenters are Nedra Deadwyler and Leonardo Vazquez.
