Meeting net zero carbon targets is a huge challenge for built environment professionals. By all measures, we are a long way from where we should be. Do the current targets shape our conscious daily efforts? What should we be doing to create sustainable communities? What’s the current thinking on best practice for critical issues such as energy, water, food, transport and biodiversity?

The Academy of Urbanism is determined to be at the forefront of these critical challenges and it is why we have brought together six distinguished speakers for an afternoon of presentations and the inevitable lively discussion. This evening ‘mini-conference’ will explore how we best plan, design and develop places in a sustainable way and identify where the first green shoots are already thriving so that we can all learn from those examples.
