About our speaker
Despina Macris is Director at Dotdash. Despina has spent over thirty years working in design practice. She works closely with the wayfinding strategy team leading design direction. Her area of expertise is in developing visual languages that respond to how wayfinding strategies are communicated in the built environment. Her focus is on the relationships between the physical fabric, spatial and information design, and how visual languages transform contextual evidence into authentic responses. She is passionate about connecting people to place. Her work reflects her belief in the importance of this critical element of design as part of wayfinding principles and methodology. Despina is board member of the SEGD (Society of Experiential Graphic Design, USA); a member of IIID (International Institute of Information Design, Zurich), Sign Design Society (UK) and Colour Society of Australia.
