The new edition of the guide continues to provide practical guidance to experts and non-specialists alike, based on both best practice in inclusive design and the latest research.

This exhibition will chart Walker’s importance in the world of typography and printing in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, from his first private press involvement with the founding and operation of William Morris’s Kelmscott Press (1891–1898), his partnership with Thomas James Cobden-Sanderson at the Doves Press (1900–1917), through to his final printing collaboration with Wilfred Merton and Bruce Rogers.

An international conference organised by the Helen Hamlyn Centre for Design in September 2026 invites speakers, participants and delegates. 2026 sees the 40th anniversary of the original New Design for Old exhibition, which Lady Helen Hamlyn curated in the Boiler House at the V&A in 1986. To mark this momentous moment in time, INCLUDE 2026 takes place in September at the Royal College of Art in Battersea, London. INCLUDE 2026 will offer a space to pause, reflect and critically examine the ongoing evolution of inclusive design.
We will explore how design research and practice considers ageing, gender, diverse abilities, neurodiversity, economic status, culture and social identity.

At AHI, we believe interpretation has the power to spark connection, meaning and wonder, and our yearly, flagship AHI Conference brings that belief to life. Across expert talks, shared experiences, inspiring site visits and practical sessions, the conference creates the conditions for genuine connection, fresh thinking and the kind of insight that stays with you long after the event.
